Modak Recipe

Modak is Indian sweet dish stuffed with different ingredients which is popular during festival preparation in India.


1.Wheat flour – 2 cup

2.Dry grated coconut – 1 cup

3.Jaggery grated – 1cup

4.Cardamom pods – 3

5.Oil for frying

6. Salt – 1/4 tbsp

Method :

1.Shift the flour with salt and make soft dough adding little  by little water .Knead well with a spoon of oil.

2. Mix the jaggery, grated coconut, crushed cardamom.

3. Make  small balls around 8 of equal size.Roll it like puri smaller than palm size little thicker.

4.Divide the coconut mixture into 8 portions and fill it in rolled poori’s and close the openings one upon the other and turn it and make small stalk .

5.keep ready the oil for frying and fry one by one until golden brown.
